Luke Skywalker and Bucky Barnes — aka the Winter Soldier — are totally the same person. And it looks like a time-traveling Mark Hamill from the sci-fi movie Time Runner is to blame for this confusing paradox.
On Sunday, Mark Hamill shared an image on Instagram of Marvel actor Sebastian Stan next to a picture of himself in the 1993 movie Time Runner. Mark Hamill has made it clear that despite the resemblance, he refuses to say that he is Stan’s father. So, if Hamill isn’t Stan’s father, then it stands to reason they’re simply the same person, traveling back in time across the space-time continuum, causing memorable and heroic bromances everywhere they (he) go.
Previously, Mark Hamill ruled out a young Luke Skywalker movie on the grounds that it would be “boring,” and Luke wouldn’t get laid, but it looks like he had an ulterior motive. He didn’t want the whole world to figure out that his younger self is running around starring in awesome movies under the false name of “Sebastian Stan.”
Hats off to you, Hamill. You’ve Jedi mind-tricked us again.
The Last Jedi, starring Mark Hamill/Old Sebastian Stan, hits theaters on December 15.
Avengers: Infinity War, starring Sebastian Stan/Young Mark Hamill, comes out on May 4, 2018.
