Watch the Actresses Behind Arya and Sansa Make Fun of Ned Stark

by Alex Wong

Things are currently tense between Arya and Sansa on Game of Thrones. But this is certainly not the case for the actresses who play them. A new video shows the real-life BFFs doing their best Ned Stark voices.

In a video uploaded to The Late Late Show with James Corden’s YouTube channel on Tuesday to promote an episode of Carpool Karaoke airing on the same day, Maisie Williams (Arya) and Sophie Turner (Sansa) do some superb impressions of their deceased onscreen dad.

“Do you remember when we used to read normal sentences, but like Sean Bean, like Ned Stark?” Williams asks. “Aye,” Turner responds, in a Yorkshire accent Bean would no doubt approve of. They then play a game where they have to say a sentence “like [they] was in Game of Thrones,” which leads to references to The Lion King, Super Mario Bros., and Sir Mix-a-Lot. Needless to say, words can’t do the video justice.

Another preview video for the episode shows off the actresses singing Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” and Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball,” in addition to surprising some fans at an HBO event.

Given some of the frustrations surrounding the most recent episode of the series, Williams and Turner doing Ned Stark impressions might actually be the most fully enjoyable Game of Thrones content available right now.

The Game of Thrones Season 7 finale will air on Sunday, August 27 on HBO. The Williams and Turner episode of Carpool Karaoke will premiere Tuesday, August 22 at 9 p.m. Eastern.
