Although Game of Thrones is an infinitely meme-able show, some episodes provide more fodder than others. And the penultimate episode of Season 7 was a field day to Game of Thrones denizens of the internet.
Spoilers below for Game of Thrones Season 7 episode 6, “Beyond the Wall.”
In “Beyond the Wall,” Jon Snow and his Suicide Squad roamed around the far North, shot the shit, battled White Walkers, and narrowly escaped with most of their lives thanks to some speedy dragon intervention. Unfortunately, one dragon (Viserion) died in the process and became a terrifying ice zombie dragon.
But, between the Night King’s big throw and the revelation that questionable rower Gendry is secretly a champion sprinter, “Beyond the Wall” provided ripe material for Twitter to pounce on. Unsurprisingly, Olympic comparisons reigned.

Many focused on Gendry’s big sprint, with plenty of comparisons to Forest Gump and Usain Bolt.
Some combined the running meme with the old rowing meme
Some were amused that the Night King now has a dragon, and that it looks a lot like a famous Yu-Gi-Oh! card.
Not to be outdone by Gendry’s Olympic comparisons, the Night King got some Olympic chatter too
And finally, some were amused by Daenerys’s new look and her similarity to a certain Disney princess
