New 'Game of Thrones' Pic Teases Action for Rhaegal and Viserion

by Corey Plante

Whenever Daenerys Targaryen, Mother of Dragons, Keeper of Long Names, does anything with her dragons, it’s almost always the petulant Drogon who gets all the attention. He’s the one who defends her when she really needs it, so he’s the one who gets to go on fun missions roasting tons of Lannisters. But, a new image released from the next episode gives Dany’s other two dragons some love, hinting that they might see some action in the near future.

Or maybe it’s just that Dany and Tyrion are really bored, while everybody else is off on a fun all-star team-up adventure.

Rhaegal (green) and Viserion (gold) both spent a lot of time locked up across the Narrow Sea, so they’re not quite as large as their black-scaled brother, but they can be just as destructive.

In the image from Sunday’s upcoming episode, the two dragons linger on the same cliff where Jon pet Drogon last week. Dany and Tyrion walk directly between them.

Other than far-off shots of the dragons circling over Dragonstone, this is really the first time this season that we’ve gotten closer looks at these two. It’s basically the first thing either of them has done since roasting all those ships during the battle of Slaver’s Bay (now called Dragon’s Bay).

Could this mean they might get a fun mission from their mom sometime soon? We can only hope for as much before this short season comes to a close in less than two weeks.

Game of Thrones Season 7 continues Sundays on HBO at 9 p.m. Eastern.
