Mace Windu was the only Jedi to wield a purple lightsaber in battle, until Arya Stark returned from Braavos to spar with Brienne of Tarth and unleashed the power of the Force.
Somehow, a fan made an already badass scene from Game of Thrones even more epic by giving everybody lightsabers. YouTuber Omid G released a video Saturday that modifies the scene from “The Spoils of War” in which Arya and Brienne spar so that their swords become lightsabers.
The clip shows the entire confrontation, including Brienne sparring with Podrick at the beginning of the scene. Each sword gets a different lightsaber color. Pod gets green, Brienne blue, and Arya wields a purple saber. It’s fitting considering Arya’s more sinister tendencies, straddling the line between light and darkness, set against Brienne and Podrick’s arguably more noble intentions.
Additional swooshing lightsaber sound effects also get mixed in for good measure. Unfortunately, the clang of swords clashing remains, but the visual spectacle works so well, especially when Arya’s acrobatics make her seem like she’s legit using the Force.
