John Connor will always send a robot Terminator back in time to save himself from assassins of the future. And this year, Judgement Day will happen all over again. The first trailer for the 3D release of Terminator 2: Judgement Day is here, and it reminds even a casual fan why it’s great.
Though the original 1984 James Cameron film — The Terminator — is awesome, the 1991 Terminator 2: Judgement Day is the true science fiction classic. For this new 3D release, the movie looks crisp as hell, meaning that even though this trailer isn’t in 3D, it makes the film look brand new.
With dueling cyborgs, special effects that still look great today, excellent performances from Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong, and of course, Arnold Schwarzenegger, T2 is still ridiculously awesome. Skynet may not have become self-aware 20 years ago, but if Skynet ever does show up, watching Terminator 2 again will get us all prepared.
