In the original Blade Runner, being a fashion icon wasn’t exactly a requirement to hunt-down rogue replicants, but it seems like it is now. Two new character posters for the forthcoming Blade Runner: 2049 emphasize Officer K’s sartorial decisions. And right now, in the style department, he’s beating the OG Blade Runner, Rick Deckard.
On Thursday, Warner Bros. revealed two new posters for Blade Runner 2049. One features Harrison Ford returning as Rick Deckard. Ryan Gosling as the mysterious Officer K was the center of the other poster. While Deckard is standing in front of that fallen statue from the first teaser, Officer K is chilling by what appears to be one of the film’s new flying cars. In keeping with previous promotional photos, Deckard is rocking a pretty minimalist t-shirt and jeans combo, as though Harrison Ford is pretty much playing himself. On the other hand, Gosling seems to be more in character, whoever that character turns out to be…
The new flying car in the Gosling/Officer K photo is pretty slick, with a Knight Rider feeling. But, Gosling’s outfit is slicker.
Blade Runner 2049 is out in wide release on October 6.
