Tormund Giantsbane has had heart eyes for Brienne of Tarth since he first spotted her atop a horse at Castle Black. Newly released photos from the set of Game of Thrones Season 7 confirm that Tormund (Kristofer Hivju) will, indeed, continue his love-struck behavior and attempt to woo the business-minded Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) once and for all.
If Northmen and noble women can get together in HBO’s Game of Thrones, based on George R. R. Martin’s novels, then Tormund and Brienne will be the ones to do it. Except, Brienne has proven herself as being visibly uncomfortable with Tormund’s attentions, which have, so far, included staring at her in amazement, seductively eating meat in her presence, and smiling at her while she rolls her eyes. Brienne is either confused or annoyed — or a combination — by Tormund’s non-advances, and it seems Season 7 might result in even more delightfully awkward encounters for Brienne and GoT fans alike.
Look at that eyebrow.
The Game of Thrones fandom nearly exploded upon seeing the shipping potential between the two in Season 6, Episode 4. So there’s no doubt this new photo of Tormund raising a frankly hilarious eyebrow at Brienne and smiling will have the same result. Hopefully Brienne finds it just as endearing and amusing as the fandom does.
Game of Thrones Season 7 with more Brienne and Tormund is expected to premiere July 16 on HBO.
