As the kids would say, this Arrow Season 5 sizzle trailer is being extra. In just two minutes, Arrow teases the return of fan-favorite characters, including Black Siren, Cody Rhodes’s Derek Sampson, and the one and only Deathstroke in the final stretch of its epic fifth season on The CW.
There is, truly, a lot going on here. Broadly speaking, the Green Arrow, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) is closing in on Prometheus (Josh Segurra), but it’s everything in between that will have Arrow fans in a tizzy. Black Siren (Katie Cassidy), who will be a series regular in Season 6, will begin her new storyline as she returns to the shock of Captain Lance (Paul Blackthorne). She also has a fun moment with the new Black Canary, Dinah Drake, which will surely fuel fan debates for years to come.
Elsewhere, the unfeeling drug kingpin Derek Sampson (played by former WWE wrestler Cody Rhodes) returns to face off with Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez). Other returning faces include Oliver’s sister Thea (Willa Holland), his old mentor Yao Fei, Konstanin Kovar (Dolph Lundgren), Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law), and yes, Deathstroke. After trolling fans hard on Twitter, Manu Bennett will reprise his picture-perfect Slade Wilson, because Oliver is so desperate to take down Prometheus, he’ll resort to one of his most fearsome foes to do it.
Man, it’s good to have Arrow back.
