'Better Call Morty' Parody Puts Lawyer Morty in the Spotlight
"Look at him go!"
Mortys don’t make good lawyers, but everyone knows they definitely make for entertaining characters in television shows. A new character from the surprise first episode of Rick and Morty’s third season, Lawyer Morty, has been the subject of a weird number of memes since his premiere. A lot of fans have equated him to Breaking Bad’s Saul Goodman, who got his own spin-off, Better Call Saul. So now Lawyer Morty has his own Better Call Morty intro.
YouTube user DandyDani smashed together scenes from Rick and Morty with the Better Call Saul intro sequence, complete with lazy guitar riffs, wide shots of the town, and Lawyer Morty dancing for the Council of Ricks’ amusement.
“How is this a fair trial?” Morty demands of the Council of Ricks in “The Rickshank Rickdemption.” “Our lawyer is a Morty!” The image then pans to a benignly smiling Morty with swept hair and a loose tie. This Morty, who definitely looks like he’s screaming internally at all times, would clearly play the part of Saul in Better Call Morty, even though the Council of Ricks insisted in the episode that he wasn’t really a lawyer and they just kept him around for fun.

It’s not the first time that Rick and Morty has crossed over with the Breaking Bad universe. The season premiere revealed that Rick may have lived in Walter White’s house at some point in his past — or at the very least used it in a “memory” he used to trick the Galactic Federation — so Better Call Morty just feels natural.
Rick and Morty Season 3 — with, possibly, more Lawyer Morty — returns this summer.
