On Saturday, just after the airing of the first episode of the new season of Doctor Who, the long-discussed new preview aired complete with footage of the Doctor seemingly regenerating and John Simm’s return as the Master.
During the first U.S. airing of the spin-off show Class, a longer preview for the rest of the tenth season of Doctor Who was shown and it revealed way more than previous footage has shown. The retro Cybermen made an appearance along with a shocking scene of the Doctor presumably regenerating into a new incarnation of himself in from of some soldiers from UNIT.
But the biggest moment is without a doubt the appearance of John Simm as the renegade Time Lord, the Master. Rocking leather, the Master also seems to have gone back to a goatee, totally in the style of classic Masters like that of the late actor Roger Delgado. How the Master survived the Time War and how he will interact with his latest incarnation, Missy, remains to be seen.
