Charlize Theron Kicks Ass to Kanye in New 'Atomic Blonde' Trailer

Charlize Theron will portray MI6 agent Lorraine Broughton, an expert in intelligence collection and hand-to-hand combat, in the upcoming Atomic Blonde. The second official trailer for director David Leitch’s (Deadpool 2) Atomic Blonde reveals even more of Theron’s ass-kicking expertise as she fights her way through the streets of Berlin and uncovers an internal threat, all to the tune of Depeche Mode, New Order, and Kanye West.

Set during the Cold War, Atomic Blonde will follow the story of Lorraine’s attempts to recover a missing list of double agents and get revenge for the death of a former ally. Agent Gascoine had “an atomic bomb of information,” and after his death it falls to Agent Broughton to recover that information and find out who’s hunting undercover operatives.

Theron is joined by an all-star cast, including James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class), John Goodman (10 Cloverfield Lane), Sofia Boutella (The Mummy), and Bill Skarsgård (It).

Not only is the new trailer packed with Theron bludgeoning men with high heels and strangling them with extension cords, it brings to mind the elegance and sexuality of James Bond mixed with the loose brutality of Jason Bourne. And this trailer proves no one could pull off that mix better than Theron.

Atomic Blonde premieres in theaters July 28.
