Orlando Bloom Is Back in Latest 'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' Teaser

And he looks like he's been out at sea for a decade.

The latest teaser for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, the fifth installment in Disney’s supernatural swashbuckling franchise, offers fans another glimpse of a returning favorite. And, well, Orlando Bloom’s Will Turner looks like he’s seen better days.

The spot, which started airing on Friday, promises that “all pirates must die.” It’s an interesting tagline since Will, the protagonist of the first three movies, escaped death and became effectively immortal at the end of At World’s End. After being fatally wounded in a climactic battle, Will’s friends helped him stab Davy Jones’s heart, meaning that he replaced the seafaring specter as captain of the Flying Dutchman. The deal was a curse, though, as he could only return to dry land for one day every ten years.

That’s where the franchise left Will, who didn’t appear in the next film in the series, On Stranger Tides. However, earlier trailers revealed that he’ll be back to have a facedown with Jack Sparrow. When we see him in a slightly longer scene in the new spot, it’s clear that serving as captain of the Flying Dutchman has taken its toll on Will’s looks, as he’s got a nasty case of barnacles.

We also know that Will’s son, Henry, is all grown up. The character, played by Brenton Thwaites, will be a major player.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales premieres in theaters on May 26, 2017.
