'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Poster Has Science and Slacking Skills
In a new poster for Spider-Man: Homecoming, Peter is hanging out on the shores of his Queens homeland, which looks out over the East River towards Midtown Manhattan. There, the Avengers tower looms in the background, just a few blocks north of the Empire State Building atop Grand Central Station.
Peter is doing some serious slacking, temporarily avoiding crimefighting and schoolwork in favor of listening to music while enjoying what looks like some great weather on the banks of the East River. It’s been well-documented that Peter attends Midtown High in Queens, which is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)-oriented school for science nerds. (You’ll remember that per most Spider-Man origin stories, Peter designs his own web-shooters; in this case, they even impressed Tony Stark in Civil War.)
This explains the golden jacket, which is not just any kind of school uniform and is instead likely part of his science team’s uniform. It’s been speculated that part of the movie will involve a trip to Washington, D.C. for a national competition. But for now, we’ll just have to relax with Peter in what might just be Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City. Check it out:
Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters on July 7, 2017.
