Before the face-hugging and chest-bursting can begin, the coupled-off crew of Alien: Covenant will have to explore their new, uncharted paradise planet with GoPros at the ready. A newly surfaced photo of Katherine Waterston’s Daniels in Covenant shows she’s ready for just about anything, though she’ll probably get more than she can handle.
Alien: Covenant, the sequel to Ridley Scott’s Prometheus and prequel to his 1979 sci-fi classic Alien, is gearing up to be the bloodiest battle with the famed xenomorphs yet. Despite potential retcons and mysteries about who planted the wheat that’s somehow growing on this very alien planet, there’s exploring to be done.
Daniels, the Prometheus crew’s leader who gives off some serious Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) vibes, is featured in the new photo, decked out in camping gear and weatherproof clothing. She’s even got what looks to be a little GoPro strapped to her back to document the crew’s explorations. The only thing she seems to be missing is a way to protect herself and the others from the impending xenomorph threat.
There’s no doubt that the crew will learn the hard way that they prepared for the wrong adventure.
Alien: Covenant premieres May 19.
