Twitter Thinks DC's 'Powerless' Is Anything But
It seems everyone especially liked the intro sequence.
Even the premise of NBC and DC’s new show, Powerless, is wildly different from its superpowered predecessors, but it seems that’s what the world needs right now. Twitter sure seemed to like the premiere.
The CW has a handle on some of DC’s most iconic superheroes — Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow all focus on superpower prowess. Powerless, which premiered on February 2, pushes metahuman abilities to the side in order to highlight the normal joes at a Bruce Wayne-owned R&D company, Wayne Security. Starring Vanessa Hudgens, Alan Tudyk, Danny Pudi, Ron Funches, Atlin Mitchell, and Christina Kirk, Powerless follows this group’s jaded team of designers and managers who are trying to figure out the best way for the normal citizen to safely live amongst supers.
Some watchers weren’t all that into the premiere or expressed concern at not being blown away from the beginning but are definitely willing to stick with it to see what happens. Pilots are, after all, notoriously okay.
Vanessa Hudgens seemed to really steal the show, especially for long-time fans of the former High School Musical actor.
But most fans were either super into Powerless or pleasantly surprised by how much they liked it. As much as the show is off the beaten path for recent superhero projects, it feels like a breath of fresh air to many.
