'GoT' Season 7 Will End With a Scene in the Dragonpit
Concept art from 'Game of Thrones' Season 7 reveals the final scene.
A Song of Ice and Fire might be the title of the Game of Thrones book series rather than the show — but it will figure into Season 7 in a big way. If the show’s concept art is to be believed, the seven-episode penultimate season will end with a clash between dragons and White Walkers.
Season 7 concept art has appeared on Reddit, and Watchers on the Wall have both verified its legitimacy and confirmed that it’s from the finale. In the image, Tyrion, Bronn, and Jon Snow stand in the smoldering ruins of the Dragonpit. Although it has yet to appear onscreen, the Dragonpit is a cavernous ruined building in King’s Landing that used to house the Targaryens’ dragons, back when House Targaryen had the Iron Throne.
While it’s intriguing enough that we’ll see it up close and personal — and that Jon Snow and Tyrion will come face to face again — that’s not all.
According to a previous set report, Varys, Cersei, Qyburn, The Mountain, Sandor Clegane, Daenerys, Missandei, and Jorah will be there too, and the scene will involve putting a wight in the Dragonpit to prove that White Walkers are a real threat. While it doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll see one of Dany’s dragons fight a White Walker, chances are she won’t arrive at such a gathering without one.
Here’s the concept art, with Jon Snow being the figure in the foreground whose back is to the viewer.
At the very least, since the Clegane brothers will both be present, the Dragonpit is an apt setting for Cleganebowl.
