Since the Red-Band trailer for Logan premiered last year, the advertisements for the upcoming Wolverine film have been mostly limited to Instagram photos and Twitter pictures. Now, Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman has posted a new teaser suggesting that there will be some big Logan-related news tomorrow on Thursday, January 18.
The bulk of Logan’s ad campaign has been director James Mangold posting production photos from the film to various social media accounts. These photos range from gritty, black-and-white photos to ambient, neon-tinged ones. Aside from the two premiere trailers, most of what fans have seen of Logan have been still photographs.
That looks to change tomorrow as Logan hopefully drops a new trailer leading up to the film’s March release date. While nobody knows what to expect from a new trailer, hopefully there will be more scenes of Professor X, Wolverine’s genetic clone Laura/X-23, and most importantly, scenes of Wolverine ripping his way through bad guys.
Logan is Fox’s second R-rated superhero film after 2016’s Deadpool, and the promotional campaign for the two films couldn’t be more different.
Whereas Deadpool utilized a barrage of advertisements, including humorous short videos and funny billboard ads across the country, Logan is taking a more low-key approach to showing off the film, relying only on set photos released seemingly at random, and described only by what camera the photo was shot with.
While there’s no doubt that the first trailer for Logan did a bang-up job (we’re still talking about it months later), it’s time for a better look at the coming film, especially since it will release in just a few months.
Logan hits theaters March 3, 2017.
