Jessica Jones and Daredevil Team Up Reluctantly in 'Defenders'
Jessica Jones and Daredevil are probably going to hit one another at some point.
Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) recently revealed that her character and Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock (Daredevil) will have a “cat-and-mouse” dynamic for the most part in Netflix’s upcoming The Defenders team-up.
“She’s gloriously the most reluctant hero in the world,” Defenders showrunner Marco Ramirez told Entertainment Weekly. “She’s going to have to let three men into her life who she doesn’t 100 percent trust.”
It seems Matt Murdock — alongside Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny Rand (Finn Jones) — might have a hard time gaining Jessica Jones’s trust. It’s understandable, especially after the beating Jessica took from Kilgrave (David Tennant) in Season 1 of Jessica Jones. Letting more superpowered men into your life after you’ve already dated several to negative results can’t be a simple thing. And Matt isn’t always the easiest person to get along with.
“I think both Matt Murdock and Jessica Jones are quite opinionated and quite stubborn,” Cox said. “I imagine that will be quite a fiery relationship — in a good way.”
The official Daredevil Twitter account responded to the news of Jessica and Matt’s potentially contentious relationship by tweeting: “Being best friends with your coworkers is overrated. #Defenders.”
The tweet continues the Defenders series’s habit of tweeting back and forth at one another while in character. Though, it’s doubtful the Jessica Jones Twitter account will respond, considering that she most likely agrees with Matt. She’ll probably stick with Trish for the time being.
