The Sand Snakes have not exactly been the most popular characters on Game of Thrones ever since their first appearance in Season 5. Most fans would not be opposed to them meeting their ends offscreen like Stannis or Olyvar. But a new set report brings news of their return in Season 7, which is both good and bad.
The bad news is that they aren’t finished being onscreen — although Season 6 made their time mercifully short. The good news is that they will probably die fighting with Daenerys’s forces, either by Euron Greyjoy’s hand or by pirate Conor McGregor’s.
Game of Thrones fans, turn back now if you don’t want spoilers.
Varys’s little birds report that Euron Greyjoy will take out a Sand Snake or two in Season 7. It would be the ultimate irony for a man who loves bragging about his cock to take out Tyene Sand, the Sand Snake with the infamous — and apparently Emmy-worthy — line about good girls and bad pussies.
But because MMA champion Conor McGregor will appear on the show as one of Greyjoy’s pirates, it would be a pretty killer cameo for the real-world Ironborn man to knock off some characters who are not exactly fan favorites.
We never thought we’d say this, but bring on the Sand Snakes in Game of Thrones Season 7.
