These 'Fantastic Beasts' Characters Will Head to Europe in Sequel
Newt, Tina, Queenie, and Jacob’s work in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them story won’t be finished at the end of the first film — they’ll all be heading to Europe to play a significant role in the next film in the five-film series. Looks like Newt Scamander won’t be the only one with more magical work.
In an interview with Collider, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Harry Potter Producer David Heyman revealed that the core quintet of the latest installment in the Potterverse will be returning for the next film, which is set in Paris.
When J.K. Rowling first announced that the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them story was going to cover five films, it wasn’t clear exactly, what that story would entail. Surely, the stories of Grindelwald and Dumbledore have been confirmed for upcoming installments. But there was never any clear word on what the involvement of relatively new characters Newt, Tina, Queenie, and Jacob might look like in future films.
While their exact role in the films to come is still something of an unknown, Heyman made it clear that the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them story is going to take us all over the globe and through a number of different time periods.
“The next one’s going to be Paris,” Heyman said. “Well see the world expand. We’ll go through the ‘20s, and into the ’30s and ’40s, and maybe beyond.”
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them arrives in theaters November 18.
