Nate Heywood is going super. In the trailer for next week’s episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, the fragile historian goes metal, becoming a man of real steel when the Legends — now led by Sara Lance, aka White Canary — and the Justice Society of America head to feudal Japan.

In this week’s episode “The Justice Society of America,” Nate Heywood (Nick Zano) was not only revealed to be a hemophiliac, but also a fanboy for his grandfather Commander Steel, whom he never met. After the usual superhero shebang happens, a critically injured Nate Heywood is given an altered serum made by Ray Palmer (under force by Nazis), which will have hardcore side effects in next week’s episode, “Shogun.”

In the trailer for “Shogun,” Ray Palmer’s Atom suit is taken by samurai and the Legends — now joined by Vixen from the Justice Society of America — attempt to take it back. And that’s when Nate becomes Citizen Steel, his superhero alter ego from the comics.

There’s also the possibility that Rex Tyler’s murder by the Reverse-Flash, altered the timeline by preventing Tyler from warning Rip Hunter and the team as he did in the Season 1 finale. We don’t know if this will have any immediate effect, however.
