Mortal Kombat's Scorpion Tells Hillary Clinton to ‘Finish Him’
And co-creator Ed Boon seems to approve.
After two brutal debates, Mortal Kombat’s Scorpion thinks Hillary Clinton has Donald Trump KO’d. And there’s only one thing left to do: Finish him.
For the New Yorker’s Daily Cartoon on October 19, artist Benjamin Schwartz illustrated an interaction between the legendary video game character and presidential candidate. Leading up to the third and last debate, Trump has faced a slew of campaign woes including a number of women publicly claiming the candidate assaulted or harassed them. Since he’s been weakened, it’s the perfect time for Clinton to execute a finishing move.
And it looks like Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon approves of this message. He tweeted out the cartoon to his 248,000 followers Wednesday afternoon. While some people might have responded to his tweet by pestering him about Kombat Pack 3 and ragging on Scorpion for endorsing Clinton, his sly little winking emoticon gives us a sense of his feelings about the New Yorker’s use of the character.
The 2016 presidential race has been heated, with many celebrities and pop culture icons voicing the importance of voting since there’s so much at stake. The Avengers and friends banded together to take down Trump in a short video and even the Simpsons endorsed Clinton. And now with Scorpion, there’s a resurrected ninja onboard to help them and Clinton squelch Trump.
