Flashpoint Turns Caitlin Into Killer Frost in 'The Flash'

Barry Allen completely rewrote time in The Flash, and even though he’s spent the first few episodes of Season 3 trying to clean up the mess, Flashpoint is the chaotic gift that keeps on giving. Even after Barry allowed the Reverse-Flash to kill his mother (again) in the Season 3 premiere “Flashpoint,” not everything from Barry’s real life was restored. Besides a rift between the West boys and Iris, Caitlin Snow might be forced to embrace her destiny as Killer Frost.

In the trailer for next week’s episode “Paradox,” Barry learns the fate of his friends have changed. Iris is distant from her family, Cisco is in grief support, and Caitlin — well, she might become a supervillain. She’s shown to be physically harnessing dry ice or cold smoke without being harmed, demonstrating an immunity or power to manipulate the element.

Caitlin has been Killer Frost before in The Flash, sort of. In Season 2, Caitlin’s Earth-2 doppelgänger was a rogue meta-human who went by the name Killer Frost. She too had the power to manipulate cold and ice, but was later killed by Zoom. Now, the real Caitlin Snow might become Killer Frost as well.

Elsewhere, the “Paradox” trailer also teases the new villain Doctor Alchemy — voiced by Tobin Bell, best known for playing Jigsaw in the Saw movies — as well as the return of Felicity Smoak, visiting once again from Star City in Arrow.

Here’s Caitlin, distressed over her newfound abilities in “Paradox.”

And here’s Cisco, in a group therapy session. What happened to Cisco that led him to seek help?

Finally, an up-close look at Doctor Alchemy, the real enemy this season on The Flash.

The Flash airs Tuesdays on the CW.
