Did the Avengers call for a medic? Because Marvel’s greatest surgeon-sorcerer Doctor Strange is definitely dropping by in Avengers: Infinity War.
With his own solo movie out in November, Doctor Strange actor Benedict Cumberbatch, confirmed that he would definitely appear in Infinity War during a recent set visit.
Cumberbatch explained that the next steps for Strange all depend on the “logistical challenge” of getting his schedule to match up with Avengers actors Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen, and Paul Bettany, four of the stars set to appear in Avengers: Infinity War in 2018.
“To get us all together will be quite something. Thats why this character is being introduced, to open up the next chapter,” said Cumberbatch.
It was sort of a given that Doctor Strange, a major Marvel superhero, would at least appear in Infinity War. But Cumberbatch’s comments not only confirm that Strange will share screen time with Iron Man, Thor, Scarlet Witch, and Vision, but that Strange will play a pivotal role in Infinity War. As the first real magician in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — the Asgardians from Thor wield unbelievable technology, but not magic — Strange could have some part in the arrival (or banishment?) of Thanos, played by Josh Brolin.
Doctor Strange won’t be released until November, but its main character is already making a major impact in the Marvel Universe. Ghost Rider, played by Gabriel Luna, has been introduced in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC exclusively because of whatever will happen in Doctor Strange.
Doctor Strange will hit theaters November 4.
