PARTYNEXTDOOR Isn't Only Kylie Jenner's 'Rumored Boyfriend'

You may know him as Drake’s OVO Sound label signee, but some may only know PARTYNEXTDOOR as Kylie Jenner’s “rumored new man”(while misidentifying him) or “rumored boyfriend”. After PARTYNEXTDOOR posted a photo on Instagram of him and Kylie Jenner showing off their watches, with the caption “Diamond Battles,” and the rumor milll started turning and non-music publications were put on to PARTYNEXTDOOR. (Kylie Jenner’s ex-boyfriend, rapper Tyga took the petty route and posted a photo of his watch with a similar caption).

For those who aren’t familiar with PARTYNEXTDOOR, let me help you. PARTYNEXTDOOR is a singer-songwriter, born Jahron Anthony Brathwaite, who’s currently signed to Drake’s OVO Sound imprint. (No, he’s not a rapper). The 22-year-old is from Mississauga, Ontario. When he was 18 (around 2012), he signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell, and went by the stage name Jahron B. He switched it up and took a moniker after “a preset called ‘Party Next Door” in the Fruity Filter plugin, according to The FADER. He thought “it sounded closest to whichever one [Drake producer] 40 used.” After producer Boi-1da introduced PARTYNEXTDOOR to OVO co-founder Oliver El-Khatib who in turn introduced him to 40 and Drake. Since 2013, he’s released two mixtape, PARTYNEXTDOOR ONE and PARTYNEXTDOOR TWO and tested P3 in a collaboration with Drake, Come and See Me.” He’s written for a few folks, and earned his first No. 1 as a songwriter when Rihanna’s “Work,” featuring Drake, peaked at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January. He’s a pretty private person, and has rarely done interviews. Majority of people at first, and some still, compare him to the Weekend, because of his origins and being once an OVO affiliate. (He hates that).

Now that we’re caught up on who PARTYNEXTDOOR is, how does Kylie Jenner get in the mix? Party was once dating singer-songwriter Kehlani, but the pair seems to have gone their separate ways. Months later, when Kehlani was allegedly dating basketball player Kyrie Irving, PND posted a photo of him holding Kehlani’s hand while in bed. People accused Kehlani of cheating, shamed her and threw expletives her way. Kehlani later posted a photo of herself in the hospital, admitting to trying to commit suicide. Thankfully, she’s okay and also mentioned, in an Instagram photo now deleted, that people were hurt but she did not cheat.

Which now brings us back to Kylie Jenner, who once made an appearance on PARTYNEXTDOOR’s video “Recognize.” Besides posting an Instagram photo together (kind of, just their hands), they were also spotted attending Russell Simmons’ All Def Comedy Live event in Los Angeles on Wednesday, May 18.

There was a PARTYNEXTDOOR before Kylie Jenner, so I’m sure, especially since his work is liked by many, there will be one during and after, even some weren’t aware and if this is at all even a thing. As for Kylie Jenners ex-boyfriend, rapper Tyga, many knew who he was and still pretended not to.
