Magik and Warlock Will Be in 'X-Men: New Mutants'
The spin-off of Fox's X-Men franchise will star mutants never before seen on film.
After the apocalypse comes a new beginning for 20th Century Fox’s X-Men franchise based on the Marvel Comics series. Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse releases in theaters later this month on May 27, but Fox will further its universe with the spin-off X-Men: The New Mutants. There is no release date just yet, so don’t worry about buying your tickets right now. Director Josh Boone, known for 2014’s The Fault in Our Stars, just completed the second draft of the screenplay a few weeks ago.
But it’s happening! With the world at large more than familiar with the likes of Wolverine, Storm, and Cyclops, X-Men: The New Mutants will feature entirely new (to movies) characters. Boone revealed a few of them one by one on Instagram, and if you need a refresher course on who’s who then we’ve got you covered.
There’s still a few more characters Boone has yet to announce, or maybe he’s cutting them out (which would be unfortunate). But for now, meet your definite New Mutants:
Illyana Rasputin, a.k.a. Magik
Rahne Sinclair, a.k.a. Wolfsbane
Dani Moonstar, a.k.a. Mirage
Sam Guthrie, a.k.a. Cannonball
Bobby De Costa, a.k.a. Sunspot
Warlock
X-Men: Apocalypse releases on May 27.
