Have you ever felt like the “like” function didn’t adequately convey how you felt about a post on Facebook? Are you of the persuasion that there should be a “dislike” button? Well there’s good news for those of you who crave more possibilities: Facebook has introduced emoji “Reactions,” marking an additional five ways to react to posts beyond just “liking” it.

In addition to the “like” function, five more emojis pop up when you hover over the “like” button on a desktop or hold the button down on the mobile app. Now, you can react with “Love,” “Haha,” “Wow”, “Sad,” or “Angry,” which are all denoted by different emojis:

As far as choosing the specific emoji reactions, Chris Cox, Facebook’s chief of product, writes, “We studied which comments and reactions are most commonly and universally expressed across Facebook, then worked to design an experience around them that was elegant and fun.”

As you’ll see with the new Facebook feature, the “Emoji” reactions add another levels of engagement to the posts, creating a more authentic experience by allowing users to more accurately express how they feel about a certain post.

There may still be no “dislike” button, but at least there is now a way to tell your racist aunt that you are angry at the video she stupidly shared.
