Video Shows a Year of the World’s Weather
In less than nine minutes, the clip shows the 2015 global weather blowing across the Earth.
A year of global meteorological information has been condensed down into a (roughly) nine-minute video that shows all the weather systems that buffeted the Earth in 2015.
Narrated by Mark Higgins of the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), the clip combines images recorded by the geostationary satellites of EUMETSAT, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA).
The video, scaling the atmosphere to a viewable space, clearly demonstrates the movement of weather from continent to continent, the changing of seasons and the formation of large storms — with each major atmospheric event pointed out verbally by the narrator.
