Tesla’s refreshed Model S Plaid (and Plaid+) might have at least one more unannounced trick up its sleeve.
In recent a video captured by EV aficionados at The Kilowatts, one of Tesla’s new Model S Plaid prototypes was spotted attempting to break a speed record at Laguna Seca Raceway in California.
There are virtually no details on this disappearing wing other than a short video and pictures posted to The Kilowatts Twitter account, but it’s expected the hardware will make an appearance in the new revamped Model S Plaid EVs set to ship in the coming month (and, perhaps, the Plaid+ that’s coming in mid-2022).
Looks like we’re going to have to sit tight and wait until Tesla announces the feature or potentially until the Model S Plaids are delivered to find out whether the company is really giving its cars wings, though. For just $120,000 (or $150k for the Plaid+), you could be among the first to find out.
