Polestar first teased the concept car as the O2, but it’s going to be released in 2026 as the Polestar 6.
It’s always a such a tease when car makers show off their beautifully-designed concept cars that will never see the light of day. This time, Polestar is giving us what we want and making its O2 concept car a reality, rebranding it as the Polestar 6.
Compared to the Polestar 2 and Polestar 3, the roadster model will be the best-looking offering with some impressive specs. It’s a hard-top convertible too, which is a first for Polestar.
Polestar didn’t detail how similar the Polestar 6 will be to the O2 concept, but it seems like it will stick mostly to the same recipe.
Although, there is the lingering question of whether Polestar will be including the drone accessory that was part of the concept car.
Polestar is already letting people reserve the Polestar 6, but with a steep reservation fee of $25,000. Even considering that’s it a limited edition launch version of the electric roadster, that $200,000 price tag feels very high.
This is bound to be one of Polestar’s more premium EVs, as indicated by the initial pricing. But we’re still hoping the retail price, when it finally comes out in 2026, will be more palatable.
