Leaked images of the Galaxy Buds 2 show it has a similar design to the Buds Pro with some premium features, such as noise cancellation, to match.
Reliable gadget leaker Evan Blass is back again, this time showing off more Samsung wares set to make their official debut at the Samsung Unpacked event on August 11.
There’s been lots of speculation about the follow-up to the original Samsung Galaxy Buds, and what we’ve seen isn’t very surprising. It appears Samsung’s taking a page from Google’s playbook and launching an affordable version of its more premium Galaxy Buds Pro.

While rumors of five colorways have surfaced, the leaked images show only four.
The four colors are black, white, a light greenish-beige, and a soft lilac color (undoubtedly the best IMO). We’ll have to wait for Samsung to learn the official color names. Judging by the renders, the glossy finish is different from the Galaxy Buds Pro's more metallic, shiny finish.
Underneath the plastic, we now know some of the buds’ features thanks to an update to the beta version of Samsung’s Wearables App.
It seems the buds will have noise cancellation, bringing them up to par with current mid-range offerings such as the new second-gen Echo Buds and the just-announced OnePlus Buds Pro. However, the low and high ANC options found on the Galaxy Buds Pro seem to be missing.
Battery life is a make-or-break feature for any wireless earbuds these days, and it seems Samsung is placing the same battery configuration (61 mAh per bud, and 472 mAh in the case) as the Galaxy Buds Pro.
Different reports from MySmartPrice have stated the buds could cost anywhere between €180-€200 ($212-$235) or maybe $149-$169. Leaker Ishan Agarwal told MySmartPrice that the buds would cost €149 ($179).
The Galaxy Buds Pro launched at $200 and can now be found on sale for $170. To compete with the OnePlus Buds Pro, the Amazon Echo Buds 2, and the Beats Studio Buds, Samsung will have to price the Galaxy Buds 2 at $150 at the highest, unless they offer something the others don’t.
The leaked info and images have revealed plenty, but it’s best to take everything with a grain of salt until Samsung officially announces them. These leaks are from a credible source, but they’re not official until they’re official.
