It was only a matter of time until someone designed the monster truck of e-scooters, and Robo.Systems now takes that honor with the 4x4 Gladiator.

Like its name suggests, the 4x4 Gladiator has a 4x4 drivetrain with four independent 2000W motors — one for each wheel.

The four motors allow the Gladiator to hit a top speed of 30 mph, but it will still maintain a smooth ride with its wide platform and 4x4 suspension that has 300 mm shock absorbers.

All of that power comes from its 2.4 kWh battery that takes four hours to fully charge with its standard charger. You can expect roughly a 65-mile range from a full charge.

Heavy duty

There’s one major tradeoff for the Gladiator’s capabilities and that’s the roughly 231-pound weight. That’s not exactly ideal for your daily commute to the office, nor storing in a modest apartment.

Still, the call to conquer dirt, sand, and snow may be enough to attract some thrill seekers out there. If that’s the case, Robo.Systems prices the Gladiator at $7,500, but you can preorder it now for $4,200 via the Indiegogo campaign. The campaign has raised a total of $8,900 at time of writing.

Robo.Systems currently has a working demo version of the Gladiator, but it’s still in the prototype phase for the rugged e-scooter. The Gladiator is eventually expected to ship in January 2023 for Indiegogo backers.
