Wearing Dyson's air-purifying headphones in New York City's streets

Yes, you’ll look like Optimus Prime.

by Raymond Wong

Dyson’s first pair of active noise-cancellation headphones, the Zone, make use of years of expertise designing miniature motors to reduce noise and provide personal air purification.

The My Dyson app monitors air quality and sound levels in real-time.

The air purification visor snaps right onto the headphones via magnets.

And flips down when you don’t want it in your way.

We’re waiting for a review unit, but the ANC and sound quality seemed pretty good. NYC’s loud streets were drowned out with a single tap on the right ear cup.

50

Hours of battery with ANC turned on.

Everything you get in the box, including a USB-C-to-3.5mm cable for flying.

Speaking of the box, the blue/copper version will come in this fancy felt-lined case.

There’s also a regular case that’s more compact.

China will get the Dyson Zone in the company’s signature blue and silver colorway.

Filters can be swapped easily.

Dyson is touting the Zone’s sound quality as one of the best in terms of ANC headphones. We’ll be the judge of that.

Price and release date

The Dyson Zone will release first in China in January for $949, and launch in the U.S., U.K., Hong Kong, and Singapore in March 2023.
