Here are 11 more incredible games coming to Xbox Game Pass in October 2021.

11. Into the Pit

(October 19, Cloud/Console/PC)

Roguelike FPS boomer shooter Into the Pit has a cool retro aesthetic with blazing-fast combat to match. With magic instead of guns, it stands out among the many shooters already on Game Pass.

10. Outriders

(October 19, PC)

The better-than-expected co-op shooter Outriders has been on Game Pass for console players since launch, and it’s finally available for PC. It includes crossplay support between Xbox and PC as well.

9. Dragon Ball FighterZ

(October 21, Cloud/Console)

Game Pass is light on fighting games, but it fills that gap this month with the incredible Dragon Ball FighterZ. Even if you’re not a fan of the anime, there’s a lot to like in its fast, beautifully rendered fights.

8. Echo Generation

(October 21, Cloud/Console/PC)

Turn-based RPG Echo Generation has major shades of Earthbound and Stranger Things, pitting normal suburban kids against supernatural enemies. It brings its setting to life with a unique voxel style.

7. Everspace 2 Game Preview

(October 21, PC)

The sequel to the great but overlooked space shooter Everspace joins Xbox’s Game Preview program this month. While it’s still in development, it already has some of the best space combat around.

6. Age of Empires IV

(October 28, PC)

The long-awaited next chapter in the Age of Empires series is out at the end of October. It’s only on PC for now, and Microsoft says there are no plans to expand to cloud or console just yet.

5. Alan Wake’s American Nightmare

(October 28, Console/PC)

Alan Wake’s American Nightmare plays out like an episode of the fictional Twilight Zone knock-off Night Springs. This combat-centric sequel doesn’t have the original’s depth, but it’s still a lot of fun.

4. Backbone

(October 28, Console)

Game Pass PC subscribers have had access to the furry detective game Backbone for a while, and now console players can get on the case. Despite its cuddly exterior, Backbone is noir to its core.

3. Bassmaster Fishing 2022

(October 28, Cloud/Console/PC)

Bassmaster Fishing 2022 lets you enjoy the best parts of competitive fishing without having to step into the mysterious and foreboding outdoors.

2. Nongunz: Doppelganger Edition

(October 28, Cloud/Console/PC)

Nongunz is an intentionally obtuse and very demanding roguelike shooter. If you’re up for a challenge, it’s worth a dive into its gorgeously lo-fi dungeons.

1. The Forgotten City

(October 28, Cloud/Console/PC)

Time loop games have been the theme of 2021, and The Forgotten City is one of the low-key best. It whisks you back 2,000 years to uncover the secrets of a cursed Roman city.
