The Nintendo Switch OLED is the next iteration in the Switch console family. It boasts a bigger OLED screen, new white Joy-Cons, and other interesting improvements.

It will not have a 4K screen or faster processing power despite what early reports indicated. However, this doesn’t mean the new system should be overlooked.

Here are 5 reasons the Nintendo Switch OLED is more than meets the eye

5. OLED screen

This new iteration will have a 7-inch OLED screen, a noticeable upgrade from the 6.2-inch LCD on the original Switch. This extra real estate will make games look more vibrant while consuming less power.

4. Better Kickstand

The original Switch had a flimsy kickstand, but the OLED model will fix that. Thanks to the wide kickstand included with the OLED, you’ll be able to play in tabletop mode with fewer worries of your system breaking.

3. LAN Support

It will feature built-in LAN support to make online play more viable. This is a major improvement over the original Switch, which required a LAN adapter to play online via ethernet cable. You’ll have a better online experience when hardwired.

2. More Storage

The new Nintendo Switch OLED model has 64GB of internal memory, which is twice the amount of the original Switch. This will keep you from running out of memory as fast, especially if you like to download your games digitally.

1. White Joy-Cons

Though this won’t impact gameplay, the new OLED model’s white Joy-Cons are absolutely beautiful. This marks the first time Joy-Con will be available in white (outside of custom paint jobs).
