Nintendo and 5 more must-see showcases at E3 2021

How to catch the best of E3 2021.

by Robin Bea

After hibernating last year, E3 is back in 2021 for what should be a monumental show with major announcements from Xbox, Square Enix, Nintendo, and more.

Here’s how to watch the most important announcements of E3 2021

While it’s not officially part of E3, Devolver’s showcase should be a good way to kick off the weekend. If you haven’t caught Devolver’s shows before, be ready for a surreal parody of press conferences that’s definitely Rated M.

2. Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase

Halo Infinite and Starfield are likely to be the headliners here. Xbox’s studio acquisitions have made it the Voltron of game publishers, so we could also hear from Double Fine, Rare, and Obsidian.

Square Enix will show off Babylon’s Fall, Life is Strange: True Colors, the Marvel’s Avengers Black Panther expansion, and a mystery Eidos Montréal game. There’s no mention of Final Fantasy, but the flagship franchise could still make an appearance.

Capcom has confirmed The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, Monster Hunter Stories 2, Monster Hunter Rise, and Resident Evil Village for its show. If we all believe hard enough, maybe Dragon’s Dogma 2 will materialize as well.

5. Nintendo Direct and Treehouse: Live

This may be the biggest event of E3 2021. Nintendo is being characteristically cagey about what it’s bringing to the party, but with Breath of the Wild 2 on the horizon and the Switch Pro all but confirmed, you don’t want to miss this one.

This one isn’t too exciting at first glance, especially with no games officially confirmed by Bandai Namco. But if there’s any chance of catching a glimpse of Elden Ring, we’ll be glued to the stream.
