After getting canceled in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, E3 is returning for its 2021 edition. This year will be an all-digital show with its own dedicated app.

Which hype-worthy upcoming games are the most anticipated at E3 2021?

8

games we need to see at E3 2021

Starfield

With rumors heating up over the past few months, Bethesda’s upcoming space game Starfield has become the talk of the town. The game is rumored to appear at the show, making it Microsoft’s secret weapon.

Psychonauts 2

Microsoft hasn’t revealed an official release date for Psychonauts 2 but insists it is coming soon. You can expect to get a proper date at this year’s show.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

We couldn’t make this list without including Zelda. With Nintendo’s late 2021 plans still shrouded in mystery, there’s a chance we see the Breath of the Wild sequel receive a surprise E3 showcase.

Final Fantasy XVI

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve seen anything on Final Fantasy XVI. The game skipped Square Enix’s last digital event altogether, so hopefully, it plans to use E3 as a larger showcase for it.

Ghostwire: Tokyo

At E3 2019, Bethesda surprised gamers with a new IP. Ghostwire: Tokyo has since been one of the most intriguing upcoming releases. It’s a PS5 console exclusive and Sony won’t be at E3, so who knows what to expect.

Pragmata

Speaking of sci-fi action games, it’s been a hot minute since we’ve seen Pragmata. Capcom’s mysterious game showed up at a Sony event last year but hasn’t been seen since. It’s not scheduled to come out until 2023, but hopefully, we get another glimpse.

Project G.G.

Here’s one we almost forgot: PlatinumGames is working on something codenamed Project G.G. There’s only one teaser trailer for it so far, but E3 seems like the perfect time to shed more light on this superhero-kaiju game.

Elden Ring

Duh. Look, if Elden Ring doesn’t make an appearance at E3 this year, the internet might explode. For the sake of our collective health, we’re begging FromSoftware to finally reveal more about its next Soulslike game.
