6. Armageddon

Sometimes, you want a sci-fi movie to tackle big issues or imagine a fantastical future. Other times, you want a big goofy spectacle about blowing up rocks, soundtracked by Aerosmith. That’s when you watch Armageddon.

5. Planet of the Apes (2001)

Tim Burton’s remake can’t hold a candle to the original, but it does feature some of makeup artist Rick Baker’s best work ever. It looks dated now, which only adds to its B-movie charm.
