Five new Star Wars shows you need to watch on Disney+ in 2022

Star Wars fans have a lot to look forward to on Disney+ this year. Let’s fly in for a closer look.

5. The Book of Boba Fett

The first Star Wars series to hit Disney+ in 2022 actually started in 2021. New episodes air every Wednesday until February 9, following everyone’s favorite bounty hunter through the criminal underbelly of Tatooine.

4. Andor

Andor doesn’t have a firm release date, but it’s slated for mid-2022. The 12-episode Disney+ series centers on Rogue One’s Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), starting five years before his fateful mission in the film.

3. Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi will fill in the gaps between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope when it hits Disney+ this year. Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen both reprise their roles, now on opposite sides of the Force.

2. The Bad Batch

The second season of animated hit The Bad Batch lands on Disney+ sometime in 2022. Following a band of experimental clones, The Bad Batch’s first season introduced some of the best new Star Wars characters in years.

1. The Mandalorian Season 3

Here’s where things get iffy. The Mandalorian season three is expected in 2022, but not confirmed. The main cast is returning, and Giancarlo Esposito has teased a bigger role for Moff Gideon this time.

Further down the line, Disney+ will see spinoff series Ahsoka, Lando, and The Acolyte, but they’re not expected until 2023 at the earliest.
